i have a theory that no one is doing work today.
it's a theory i am passionately holding on to as it's the first day after a busy, three day weekend, and I am finding it excruciatingly difficult to focus and be productive. that and it's fucking hot in my cube. it shouldn't be, as the AC is on, but i'm near a window that the sun is hitting and my mind is convincing me that the shades and window aren't doing anything to block out the heat. according to the internet it's 84 degrees right now. 3 more degrees and we should reach the high of today in los angeles. tomorrow, it should start to cool down and i'm really looking forward to that. if i cast protego on me, would it make it me any cooler or will that only protect me from spells. and right now you're thinking you're a nerd for using a harry potter spell reference. to that i say "well protego was also used as a form of white magic in final fantasy where the caster intends to lessen the amount of magic damage on the intended target. i tend to use this spell when i'm fighting a magic based boss whose weaknesses change throughout the fight as no physical based damage is usually incurred." that's right. in your face.
seriously it's hot in here. there's beads of sweat on my forehead. not cool.
the past week has been cool. well..not temperature wise. i celebrated my birthday. yay. went to vegas. orange hill. north hollywood twice. yeah i'm tired. he he he...i think i'm old cause my body is sore from all the driving this weekend. that and i'm just out of shape. he he he...or just fat as my girlfriend likes to remind me. she's funny about it so i don't mind it most of the time. i'm looking forward to tonight cause i plan on just chilling out. unless EA releases a madden roster update to reflect the opening day rosters. i still don't get why the raiders released quentin moses and kept tyler brayton. but because it happened, i want to restart my raiders franchise with the opening day rosters.
UPDATE 1:15pm: it seems the ea roster update will be released on thursday when the season starts. hopefully the raider roster is accurate. the problem on madden is you need a certain number of players for a particular position (i.e. 2 free safeties, 2 strong safeties). but some teams don't carry rosters like that so, every once in a while, you'll see a team carrying a player that isn't on the real roster just to fulfill that madden criteria. also noteworthy is the rumor that michael vick will be taken off the roster.
