new year, same final fantasy infatuation
Squall Leonhart is my favorite final fantasy character. Why? I guess I just identified with him at the time the game came out. Like Squall I was a student at a SEED academy and my weapon of choice was the gunblade. I also sported a wicked scar across my face. Survival was daunting, success minimal, but with my pals Rinoa, Zell, Irvine, Quintis, and Zelphie we defeated the evil Ultimicia. That or he was characterized as a loner and I fancied myself as one as well. We were both just cool like that. It wasn’t just the character I liked but the overall game too. his progression from loner to hero was something I aspire…dug as well. I dig final fantasy VIII. VII was cool too and had the most memorable and surprising death in any video game I played. IX had it’s moments but nothing that has a left a lasting impression on me. X was a nice return and a decent story. XI I skipped. I don’t do MMORG’s. XII…disappointed. okay…VI is the shit and is what spurred yet another final fantasy infested entry. I read some article about how they were making it into a movie. Of course, I got too excited and didn’t read the part that said they SHOULD make it into a movie. Sadness overcame me. I miss final fantasy VI. Actually…I shouldn’t cause I bought it for my DS. Maybe I should play it soon. Like after I finish some WII games I have. Yeahyerrr.
